Heriot’s are the Scottish cricket cup winners for 2026 after defeating Clydesdale by four runs and with three balls remaining in the final at Arbroath.
The result reverse last season’s defeat for Heriot’s at the hands of their Glasgow rivals and adds to the T20 trophy claimed last week.
Put into bat after losing the toss Heriot’s posted a modest 158 in which Peter Ross top scored with 55.
With two overs remaining and Clydesdale needing just nine runs to win with two wickets in hand it looked as though the odds favoured them.
But Heriot’s bowling attack in which Ryan Brown took 3-29 and Josh Elliott 3-30 had always been disciplined to keep them in touch throughout.
And it was Elliott who made the final breakthrough by bowling Zeeshan Bashir for victory as Clydesdale were dismissed for 154.
