The Edinburgh International Book Festival has always attracted huge crowds, but now, thanks to the clever use of live streaming, it’s accessible to thousands more people all around the world.
The latest edition of the famous festival is scheduled to have almost 90 events that will be live streamed from Edinburgh to audiences all over the world. This means that people who were once cut off due to cost or geography will now be able to get the next best thing to being there in person.
Following in the Footsteps of Other Digital Transformations
The move to make the Edinburgh International Book Festival more accessible through online methods is a natural progression, as many other events and activities have undergone the same sort of digital transformation to great effect in recent years.

Some of the biggest names set to appear include the legendary legal thriller writer John Grisham, along with the iconic Scottish crime writer Ian Rankin. Along with authors, there are other special guests scheduled, including Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales and former Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
