On Friday afternoon police officers were still in place after being called to the Muirhouse Gardens area of Edinburgh after a man was seriously assaulted.
Emergency services were called to a common stairwell around 12.45pm on Friday, 17 July, 2026.
A man was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment to serious injuries.
Extensive enquiries are ongoing.
