Police in East Lothian have arrested and charged a 56-year-old man following a series of theft by housebreaking incidents in North Berwick.
The incidents occurred at various businesses premises, mostly in the High Street area, between February and June 2026.
Following extensive enquiries in the area, a man was arrested and charged in connection with seven theft by housebreakings.
He appeared before Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, 6 July, 2026.
Detective Sergeant Robert Gilmour said: “Crimes of this nature can have a significant impact on the local community and businesses, and we would like to thank the public for their support during our investigation.
“Anyone with information or concerns about suspicious activity in their area is urged to report it to Police Scotland on 101.”
