Adam Forrester has joined Ross County on a season-long loan from Hearts after not featuring in either of the club’s fixtures in the Champions League.
The 21-year-old has made over 30 appearances for the Men in Maroon and spent part of last season on loan at St Johnstone.
Stuart Kettlewell, Ross County’s manager, believes Forrester is a bright prospect and added: “He suits the way we are looking to play.”
Meanwhile, Hearts head to Pittodrie (pictured) on Saturday (17.30) where they have a depressing record.
Aberdeen have won ten of their last 11 home league games against the Jambos and this is the second season running that the sides have met on opening day. The Jambos won 2-0 last season.
The Gorgie club go into the game on the back of a poor Champions League campaign where they lost 6-0 on aggregate to Austrian club, Sturm Graz, including a 2-0 defeat at Tynecastle in the second-leg on Tuesday.
On the bright side, Hearts have won their opening games in four of the last five Premiership seasons, but the new-look Dons have had games in The Netherlands and Belfast as well as having a week in training camp.
They have made 11 new signings and in the Premier Sports Cup the men from the Granite City have recorded four wins.
Scotland international, Stuart Armstrong, told Aberdeen’s official website that the club need to learn from last year and improve on it.
Stephen Robinson took over as manager in the later part of last season and Armstrong said: “The manager brings a lot of energy, a lot of structure.”
The Dons finished a disappointing ninth last term and Robinson told Sky Sports: “Three of the last five years we’ve been in the bottom six which isn’t acceptable for a club of this size.”
