Six appliances were called to Arthur’s Seat on Sunday evening just after 6.30pm to tackle a wildfire.
The fire service say they are on site and there is no need for members of the public to call their Operations Control about this incident.
An SFRS spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 6:38pm on Sunday, 19 July to reports of a fire in the open at Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh.
“Operations Control mobilised six fire appliances and specialist resources to the scene where firefighters are working to extinguish a fire affecting an area of grass.
“There are no reported casualties and crews remain at the scene.”
Assistant Chief Officer SFRS John Henderson also confirmed on BBC Radio Scotland this morning that SFRS presence would likely continue in Holyrood Park for at least a couple of days.
