Delegates from all over the world came together in Scotland this last week for the world’s largest bi-annual Healing Arts week.

The week celebrates the transformative role which the arts has on health and wellbeing.

The national conference was held at the National Galleries of Scotland in Edinburgh on 18 June, when Scottish violinist and Edinburgh International Festival Director, Nicola Benedetti was recognised as the first ever Global Ambassador for Healing Arts.

Throughout the week flagship days were held in Shetland, Lewis & Harris, Dumfries & Galloway and Glasgow, featuring talks, artist commissions, exhibitions, concerts and workshops.

The weeklong activities showcase Scotland as a leading voice in the global creative health movement, emphasising the vital role the arts play in health and wellbeing across communities. Healing Arts Scotland is part of the Jameel Arts & Health Lab’s global outreach campaign in collaboration with the World Health Organization.
