Hibs defender Rocky Bushiri has been forced to withdraw from the DR Congo World Cup squad due to injury.
Earlier this week, Rocky was officially called up to Sébastien Desabre’s official 26-man squad for the upcoming World Cup Finals in North America.
Rocky played his part for the Leopards during their qualifying campaign, helping DR Congo qualify for their first World Cup in 52 years.
Unfortunately, he has been forced to withdraw from the squad due to an injury he sustained during Hibs final William Hill Premiership match of the season against Motherwell.
Hibs head coach David Gray said: “Everyone is devastated for Rocky, and the timing of this injury couldn’t be worse for him so close to the World Cup.
“Rocky has worked so hard for us this season, and he earned himself the opportunity to compete at the World Cup for his performances at both club and international level.
“We will all rally around Rocky and make sure he gets our full support from everyone at the Club.”
