Hibs European hopes remain alive after a comfortable away victory over Falkirk this afternoon.

After successive defeats, David Gray made six changes to his starting XI in the battle for European football.

Goalkeeper Raphael Sallinger and wing back Felix Passlack returned to the side after serving a one-match suspension against Celtic last weekend.

The pair replaced Jordan Smith and Kanayo Megwa.

Jordan Obita replaced Nicky Cadden, while Grant Hanley also returned to the side from suspension to replace Rocky Bushiri.

Jamie McGrath was suspended after his red card against Celtic, and was replaced by Dan Barlaser, while Josh Campbell came in for captain Joe Newell to make his first start since December 2025.

Falkirk manager John McGlynn made just one change to the side that beat Motherwell 1-0 last time out.

Forward Kyrell Wilson returned to the starting XI, with Ben Broggio dropping to the bench.

Falkirk also welcomed back defender Liam Henderson, who was named among the substitutes.

Hibs, wearing their yellow away kit opened the scoring in the second minute when Campbell headed home an Obita corner from the right.

The Bairns fought back though and Barney Sewart was inches away from connecting with a pass from Kyrell Wilson.

The same due went close in the 12th minute but once again the striker was unable to reach the cross.

Obita then sent a dangerous cross in from the left which was headed just wide by Warren O’Hora as play raged from end to end.

Hibs added a second in the 20th minute when Hanley found Martin Boyle on the left wing.

Boyle did well to turn his marker and his cross was headed home at the back post by Campbell.

Moments later Boyle teamed up with Owen Elding and the youngsters low cross just evaded his teammate.

At the other end some good defending by Hanley denied Wilson a chance.

But Hibs continued to dominate and Myles Hogarth produced saves to deny Barlaser and Obita.

The third goal arrived in the 39th minute when Passlack’s cross from the right was missed by Elding but Obita following up fired the ball into the net from 15-yards.

The first chance of the second-half fell to the hosts but Wilson’s cross was just too high for Calvin Miller.

At the other end a low cross from Campbell was intercepted before it could reach Elding.

On the hour mark Campbell was booked for a pull back on Connor Allan then moments later he was replaced by Joe Newell.

Hibs looked to be coasting when Falkirk pulled one back in the 71st minute when Broggio fired in a powerful strike from 22-yards.

Moments later Boyle and Miquel Chaiwa were replaced by Ante Suto and Kai Andrews.

The goal seemed to give the Bairns some confidence and they started to dominate possession as they looked to get back into the game.

John McGlynn’s side fought to the end and created several chances but the Hibs players managed the game to a successful conclusion.

The result leaves Hibs five points clear of Falkirk and three behind Motherwell with an inferior goal difference.
