A fire was clearly visible on the skyline of Arthur’s Seat on Monday evening where the blaze had taken hold on a grassy area just above St Anthony’s Chapel.
The Scottish Fire & Rescue Service attended just before 7pm, but fire crews remained on the scene long after dark
A spokesperson for SFRS said: “There is a large amount of smoke resulting from this incident. Local area residents are advised to keep windows and doors shut as a precaution.”
It was confirmed that three appliances were sent to the scene.
