Neilsons Solicitors have announced a new charity partnership with Four Square.
The film is firmly of the view that helping people to find and move into new homes is at the heart of what they do. With that in mind they are announcing a new partnership with Four Square, the Edinburgh charity supporting people who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless.

Over nearly 50 years, Neilsons has been proud to contribute to local causes and initiatives, and partnering with Four Square feels like a particularly meaningful way for us to give something back. While our work focuses on helping people buy and sell homes, we recognise that for many people in our city, the path to secure housing can be far more challenging.”
The partnership officially begins on 1 April 2026 and the team from Neilsons will be working closely with Four Square in the coming year to raise funds, donate furniture and other items, and support a range of other initiatives designed to help people access safe and stable homes.
Four Square provides vital, locally focused services across Edinburgh, including supported accommodation, mentoring programmes and specialist advice for those facing housing insecurity. Alongside these services, the charity runs The Edinburgh Furniture Initiative, one of Scotland’s largest furniture and homeware reuse social enterprises. Open to the public, the initiative sells a wide range of affordable pre-loved furniture, appliances and homeware, generating essential funding that supports Four Square’s frontline work.
Four Square also run the Park Cafe in the stunning Saughton Park Gardens, just a few minutes walk from the furniture showroom. The café is an important element of Four Square’s offering, ensuring Edinburgh has beautiful spaces for people in the community to use.
Jenna Spence, Operations Director, added: “The partnership comes at a crucial time for Edinburgh with the ongoing housing crisis affecting all aspects of the property sector. In 2023, the City of Edinburgh Council declared a Housing Emergency, reflecting the growing pressure on the housing system. Since the first Covid lockdown in 2020, homelessness in Edinburgh has almost doubled, placing enormous strain on support services and the organisations working to help people rebuild their lives.
“Through this partnership we hope to play a small but practical role in supporting Four Square’s work. Over the coming year we will be organising fundraising activities, encouraging furniture donations that can be reused through the Edinburgh Furniture Initiative, and hosting a range of events that bring our team, clients and the wider community together in support of the charity.
“To kick things off, we will be hosting a Decluttering, Staging and Selling event at the Four Square showroom on Gorgie Road on 2 May at 10am.
“The event is being delivered in collaboration with our Edinburgh’s Ultimate Home Move partners, LIFE / EDIT Home Organisation, and will offer practical advice for anyone thinking about preparing their home for sale. Guests will hear from decluttering expert Zoe Berry, founder of LIFE / EDIT, alongside Amy Howard, Senior Property Consultant at Neilsons, who will share insights on how decluttering, organisation and thoughtful presentation can make a real difference when selling your home.
“As well as the presentation, attendees will also have the opportunity to learn more about the incredible work Four Square does across Edinburgh and take a tour of their enormous furniture showroom, which is packed with interiors inspiration and a fantastic range of quality pre-loved furniture and homeware.”
The event is free to attend, but everyone is invited to bring along something they would like to declutter from their own home to donate to Four Square.
