Police have arrested a 15-year-old boy following the pursuit of a stolen vehicle in Edinburgh.
Officers stopped the vehicle in Princes Street around 4am this morning.
The driver made off on foot but was arrested nearby.
Princes Street was closed to facilitate the investigation but reopened at 5.40am.
The boy will be reported to the relevant authorities.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4am on Tuesday, 31 March, 2026, following a short pursuit, police stopped a stolen vehicle in Princes Street, Edinburgh.
“The 15-year-old driver of the vehicle made off but was captured by police and arrested in connection with various road traffic offences.
“He will be reported to the relevant authorities.
“Princes Street was closed during this incident but reopened at 5.40am.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
