Fielding two Fifers and a player from Edinburgh in a five man squad, Scotland’s men retained their Open title at the Four Nations padel championships in Leeds.

Opening with a narrow victory over Ireland featuring a key win for Thistle’s Ross Murdoch and Dunfermline’s Sam McNeill the Scots then comfortably overcame Wales.

That set up a titanic tussle versus England when victory was clinched in a shoot-out involving Sam McNeill and Nick Hatchett.

Also successful were the Scottish over-60 women while the men were runners-up in the same age-group.

Both men’s and women’s sides were runners-up at over-50 level.
