Open weekend announced at Edinburgh development

House hunters are invited to step inside a collection of newly refurbished four-bedroom homes at one of the city’s newest addresses.

The open day on 7 December, will showcase the completed show home in their house style, the Holly.

The house type layout features wraparound gardens and detached garages at the newly launched Craigiehall Meadows development.

Originally home to the British Army HQ, the Craigiehall Barracks site is undergoing a transformation and is now attracting strong interest from families looking for more space in a rare semi-rural setting on the fringe of the capital.

The project is being marketed by Ralph Sayer. Estate agency head, Tzana Webster, reports record demand, hot on the heels of the development’s first phase selling out in less than 12 months.

She said: “We’re seeing a fantastic response from families drawn to the space, style and value on offer. Homes here tick all the boxes, large bedrooms, luxurious finishes and generous gardens.

“All in a peaceful woodland setting just minutes from Cramond, Cammo and the city bypass.

“The Holly and the Hazel are ideal for those looking to upsize, relocate or secure a fully refurbished property that’s ready to move into before the end of the year.”

Visitors to the open events will be able to walk through both home types, which are almost identical in layout with four spacious double bedrooms, multiple reception areas and bright kitchens that connect directly to private gardens.

Inside, every home has been fully refurbished to an exceptional standard, with triple glazing, new roofing and modern interiors throughout. Standout features include separate utility rooms, integrated kitchens, generous principal bedrooms with en-suites and detached garages with private driveways.

Alongside the walk-in viewings, the development’s larger Alder house type, a five-bedroom layout already 25% sold, will be available to view strictly by appointment only.

Tzana added: “The Alder is proving hugely popular with larger families and professional couples alike. Viewings are available by private booking, and we’d urge anyone interested to act quickly, as we’ve already secured multiple reservations.

The broader Craigiehall Meadows development includes 27 detached homes on Riverside Road, with a mix of four and five-bedroom properties – each offering a unique opportunity to live in a low-density setting close to the River Almond.

Thanks to its military heritage, the location boasts a unique sense of privacy and peace, while remaining well connected to the city centre and Edinburgh Airport via nearby road and rail links.

Tzana continued: “This is a part of Edinburgh where developments of this calibre rarely come up.

“Craigiehall offers something different, it’s not a standard estate build. These homes blend period-inspired layouts with crisp, contemporary finishes. We’re excited to open the doors and let buyers see that for themselves.”

The open weekend is designed to give prospective buyers a chance to compare layouts and get a real feel for the homes and their surroundings.

Craigiehall Meadows was originally developed in 1939 to house military families and later served as a strategic headquarters for the British Army in Scotland. The redevelopment has focused on retaining the unique charm of the site while introducing modern homes that are in high demand.

Open viewings at the Holly are available between 11am and 2pm on 7 December, with no appointment required.

To view the five bedroom detached house style, The Alder, please contact the selling agents in advance to arrange a private appointment.
