The East of Scotland tennis women have returned home in triumph from Hull after winning group 5B of the winter county cup.
However the team, captained by Heather Croll, face an anxious wait to discover whether their promotion will materialise.
Says Heather, whose team defeated Oxfordshire (9-0), Hereford/Worcester (9-0) and Wiltshire (6-3): “Currently the LTA have decided this will be the last ever Winter County Cup but there are a number of petitions/social media platforms trying to get them to change their decision!”
The East squad comprised Heather Croll, Sarah McFadyen, Hanna Augustynska, Kyra Shetty, Shaylin Holt, Eva Vrhunec aand Aadya Chadalawada for whom success capped a month in which she topped the Tennis Scotland women’s tour leaderboard for 2025.
