Hibernian striker Kath McGovern has been named in Melissa Andreatta’s Scotland Women’s National Team squad for this month’s international friendlies against China PR and Ukraine.
McGovern has been in fine form and last weekend scored the equaliser in Hibernian’s 3-2 Sky Sports Cup victory over Hearts at Oriam.
The fixtures that serve as key preparation ahead of the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers next year.
There’s also a first call-up for Aston Villa midfielder Miri Taylor. The 25-year-old, who previously represented England at youth level, has impressed in the WSL, most recently scoring the decisive goal in Villa’s 1–0 victory over an unbeaten Manchester United.
Kirsty Smith and Amy Rodgers drop out of selection for the final two games of the year as Andreatta continues to assess the squad ahead of next year’s qualification campaign.
Last week, Scotland were drawn in Group B4 of the European Qualifiers alongside Belgium, Israel and Luxembourg.
