Hibs head coach David Gray wants to see a reaction from his players against Livingston at Easter Road tomorrow.

In terms of team news, Gray has welcomed back Joe Newell and Miguel Chaiwa into full training over the last week.

When speaking to Hibs TV ahead of this weekend’s clash he said; “The only long-term player that’s out is Alasana Manneh. He’s doing really well on the grass and is in the latter stages of his rehab, which is positive.

“Joe Newell trained with us over the last week. It’s been a little stop start with him because of the birth of his son, which is brilliant for him and his family. It’s been really good to have him back part of the group. He’s still got a lot of work to do, though, because he’s been out for so long.

“Miguel’s been back in training too. In terms of the squad, I have a lot of players to pick from, which is good.”

Hibs are looking to return to winning ways in the William Hill Premiership and have been working hard in preparation for that at HTC over the last couple of weeks.

He continued: “We’ve used the international break as a time to get some quality work into some players and as an opportunity to de-load a few players that needed it.

“The break came at a good time for us to provide us a bit of a reset. We’re really focused now coming back from the international break that we hit the ground running.

“We’ve got Livingston at home, which is a difficult one, but we want to get back to winning ways.”

Hibs took on Livingston in the Premier Sports Cup earlier this season and ran out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Thibault Klidje and Josh Mulligan.

However, despite that result, Gray is more than aware of the challenge his side will face.

“They’re (Livingston are) playing a lot of football now. Davie (Martindale) has set them up to play some good stuff and they’ll be difficult to be beat, as they always are.

“We need to focus on what we can do and I’m looking for a reaction. We’ve worked on some areas, and the international boys have come back in a good place.

“All in all, we’re all geared up to give ourselves the best chance tomorrow.”
