Hibs midfielder Josh Mulligan is loving life at Easter Road and he is determined to make the most of this season’s European campaign.
Hibs take on Legia Warsaw in the UEFA Conference play-off round tonight in front of an expected sell out crowd in Leith.
Mulligan has featured in every competitive game this season and opened his goalscoring account with a stunning strike in the Premier Sports Cup against Livingston at the weekend.
Speaking to the media ahead of tonight’s game Mulligan explained how much he was enjoying his first few months at the Club.
“As soon as I walked in the door here, I knew it was a good decision, and I haven’t looked back since.
“These are the games that you want to play in, this is part of the reason you come to the Club. I have loved every minute of it so far, and I can’t wait for it again tomorrow night. Games like these don’t come along very often, so you need to make the most of it.
“The group of players we have in the dressing room suits both Scottish Football and European football. The Gaffer has got a certain way of playing and we have all adapted to that – I am loving it to be honest.
“The boys have been brilliant with me, I have really bought into the style of play and I am loving it all. There is a good mix of young boys and experienced players too – so that has definitely helped me settle in, there are a few of us in the same boat.”
Josh has certainly made positive first impressions with the Hibs supporters and with the match approaching a sell-out, he is excited to play in front of another capacity crowd.
“You want to make a good impression with the fans, you want to make them happy and to hear them singing every week.
“You want the fans turning up in their numbers– the fans are massive for this Football Club, particularly in Europe, they have been brilliant and have helped get us over the line last week.
“There is a good feel-factor around the Club. The last few European games have been the best atmospheres I have played in.
“Hopefully, we can keep it up and continue to keep playing well every week – fingers crossed we can create a bit of history in the next couple of weeks.”
