Whilst carrying out patrols in the Winton Estate area of Pencaitland, Community Officers on Quad bikes seized two motorbikes including a Surron bike which was seen being used on the road.
Neither rider in this case was wearing any protective equipment.
A police spokesperson said: “There has been an increase in the illegal use of off road bikes both on rural land and on roads in recent weeks which causes damage to farmers crops and land and can be dangerous to walkers, dogs, livestock.
“Riders are reminded they must have the permission of the Land Owner and must be transported to that specific land in a vehicle, or be road registered and insured.”
