Heriot’s confirmed that the club are living in a golden cricketing era when they captured the men’s T20 cup with a seven wicket win over Clydesdale in Stirling at the weekend.
Added to other successes the Goldenacre outfit now hold all five trophies open to them in adding to the men’s Scottish Cup, the Grand Final, Masterton Trophy and the 2024 Eastern Premiership (which they are on course to retain with three rounds remaining).
Clydesdale were restricted to 113-9 in the final, Adrian Neill taking 3-24, whilst Gavin Main, James Dickinson and Mark Watt all took two wickets apiece – and chased that target down inside 15 overs as Watt (44) and Matthew Cross (37) led their side to their target.
Earlier, Heriot’s saw off Grange who had qualified for the semi-final as defending champions while Clydesdale overcame Forfarshire.
Leading the way for Heriot’s in that tie was skipper Lloyd Brown who hit 47 as a target of 108 was overtaken with four fours remaining.
Lloyd Brown said: “It was a great performance today. I think in the first game Grange were 37-0 after three overs to to bring that back the guys dug in brilliantly.
“What was really good was, we’ve got a quick bowling line up and that’s done really well for us this season but the spinners really stepped up and were class across both games.
“As we stand we hold all five trophies (but) we’ve still got a couple more to tick off and hold on to so we are really looking forward…. to finishing the season really well.”
