The Red House Hotel in Coupar Angus, the town’s last remaining Hotel, known for its proximity to some of the areas most renowned golf courses, is currently in the midst of its most successful golfing break season yet.
With several months of the traditional golfing season in Perthshire still to run, the Hotel has already hosted more than 2,000 golfing guests, with the highest numbers hailing from the capital, and across the Central Belt, along with others from as far away as South London.
The hotel has promoted and showcased the high standard of golf available in the area for many years, including its most local course, Blairgowrie Golf Club, with its spectacular Rosemount and Lansdowne Courses.
With Golf and Stay package starting from £155 per person for bed & breakfast, and one round of golf at Alyth Golf Club, rising to £507 per person for two nights DBB, and three rounds of golf over Lansdowne, Rosemount and Ladybank, the Hotel has become popular with golfing guests, many of whom return each year.
Other courses on which preferential rates can be offered to golfing guests include Strathmore, Forfar, Kirriemuir, Murrayshall, Downfield, Montrose Links and Crieff.
Along with its excellent relationships with golf courses, the hotel looks after guests to the very best of its ability at the 19th hole.
“We’re delighted to have hosted well over 2,000 golf guests already this season, the actual figure is 2,250, and it’s only August!” said Alan Bannerman, the Hotel owner.
“The warm summer weather has been a bonus this year too, with golfers coming here for the first time seeing the area at its very best. Many golfing groups come here year after year, staying with us, and for that very grateful.”
Alan remarked that he had also had golfing guests from Penrith, Carlisle and Manchester.
“We are hoping we have plenty of great golfing weather still to come here in the beautiful Vale of Strathmore,” he said. “Our season continues well into the autumn which is really good news. It’s a huge boost to the entire local economy.”
