Hibs Women made a strong start to pre-season by defeating Boroughmuir Thistle at Meadowbank Stadium by seven goals to nil.
Hannah Jordan and Rosie Livingstone nabbed braces while Kirsty Morrison, Siobhan Hunter and Ciara Grant also found the net.
Hibs head coach Grant Scott was full of praise for Jordan, who only just joined the Club earlier this month following her departure from Spartans.
After the final whistle he said: “Hannah’s come in and done really well. I think both her and Tiree, and Caley returning, as our new signings; they have equated themselves really well so far. And you see the strength in Hannah.
“She’s a competent player, very confident in herself and getting a couple of goals again today. It was a strange one because it’s McGov and Eilidh that would normally take that and neither are on the pitch. So, it was quite interesting to see her step up and take that penalty.
“I’m really pleased with the players that have come in. They’ve added a different dimension. We’ve got different options in the squad now. Hopefully they keep pushing on.
“As small a squad as we have, I think we’re now bursting with quality.
“I think the girls coming in offer something different. And you’ve got McGov, Eilidh, Kirsten and Tegan not on the field today at all. They probably add the little bit of depth that we were maybe missing at times last season.
“We’ve achieved a terrific thing last year, but the pressure now to go again and challenge again has meant that the squad has had to improve. We’ve had to make some tough decisions. And players that did really well for us last year are not here.
“And these new ones coming in, it’s their job to challenge the rest that were here.
“So, we’re happy with where we are. We do not have a limitless budget. We’d love to have another player or two, but it’s where we are at the moment. But we’re more than happy with what we’ve got.”
