When Charlie Duffin scored from a free kick early in the second half to add to a first half brace from Cammy Lochhead it seemed Cramond Primary footballers were cruising to victory over Edinburgh Academy in the final of the Inspector’s Cup at Meggetland – even though ‘keeper Andrew Reid had been called upon to make some fine saves.

But the Academy had other ideas pulling the tie back to 3-3 with extra time looming.

Time for a hero to emerge and up stepped Cramond’s Alex Paterson to end a curling free kick into the net for the winner.

The winning Cramond squad – Sonny Brown, Charlie Duffin, Alasdair Gall, Bilal-Qasim Khurram, Cameron Lochhead, Alfie McCann, Sam Park, Alex Paterson, Andrew Reid, Reuben Reynolds, and Jasiel Yousef.
