West Lothian Angling Association host their annual general meeting on Thursday, January 11, at Livingston’s Howden Park Centre.

The time is 6.30pm and the event doubles with the organisation’s regular fly tying night which ends at 21.00.

The annual meeting forms the first part of the evening and everybody is welcome but only members will have voting rights, according to a spokesman.

He said: “If you would like to see any changes to the club or the fishing please inform us beforehand as we can cover the topic during the annual meeting.”

Free tea, coffee, juice plus cake and biscuits.

A reminder that the inaugural Edinburgh New Year Shore Angling League, sponsored by The Edinburgh Angling Centre, The Fishing Megastore and Cox and Rawle, stats on Friday, January 12, at Newhaven. Registration details are awaited but fishing will start at 7pm and finish at 10pm.

And Mike and Chris’s Winter Heaviest Cod League resumes on Saturday, January 13, with fishing from 4pm to 9pm and registration from 2.30pm to 3pm at the Victoria Car Park, Arbroath. All depart at 3pm and high water is 5.15pm.

Boundaries are Carnoustie to Ferrydey and Scottish Federation for Sea Anglers rules apply with one rod and maximum of three hooks. This is leg three of five and an angler from East Lothian is currently the leader.
