Hibs’ Head Coach Jack Ross had ‘no complaints’ about the end result in yesterday’s 3-0 defeat to the champions Celtic at Parkhead but praised his players ‘very good’ first-half performance.

Celtic scored twice in the opening 45-minutes although Hibs had the better half in terms of chances created but the Hoops clinical finishing was the difference between the teams.

Ross tried to change the shape for the second-half which allowed Neil Lennon’s men more space and they took advantage.

Hibs now face Hamilton Academical on Friday night at Easter Road.

After the final whistle Ross told BBC Scotland: “No complaints over the end result. We played against a good team today at a very difficult venue. First half I thought we were very good despite the fact that we ended up 2-0 down at half time.

“There were aspects of our performance in the first half which were excellent. We found ourselves in really good areas of the pitch regularly but we weren’t ruthless enough in terms of working their goalkeeper.

“When you are chasing the game here it is tough. We got a little bit cloudy in our decision making in the second-half but in the first half there were a lot of positives for us.

“Celtic were good and I didn’t expect them not to be. They were respectful of the challenge we would offer and they brought a good performance to the game.

“I’m respectful about how good a side they are and how good a manager Neil (Lennon) is and their record here which is incredible domestically.

“What pleased me is that I had a team in the first half that looked like they had belief and it’s easy for me to stand on the touchline and tell them not to let that diminish when they go behind but it’s tough.

“The changes that I made in terms of shape were a big gamble aimed at us trying to create more but equally we were only going to give up possession but Celtic took advantage and controlled the second-half.”
