There is disappointing news for sea angling regulars with charter firm Bee Cool Fish of Eyemouth.

Owner Mark Fouracres will not sail again until at least Christmas because of spinal problems. Mark has sold his boat but does plan to make a return.

He thanked customers for their trade and declared: “I do aim to be back.”

Meanwhile, Aquamarine Charters boss Derek Anderson reports that there is plenty of mackerel being hooked off Eyemouth but cod and pollock are slow. Sunday’s high winds were, of course, difficult for anglers on land and at sea.

Members of Edinburgh and Lothians Coarse Angling Club did venture out on Sunday, facing heavy rain and blustery winds in the six-hour match at Orchill near Auchterarder.

The busy club host the sixth round in their Summer Series on Saturday, September 19 at Orchill Fishery near Auchterarder.

New members are always welcome and anybody interested is asked to register by Friday, September 18 at 4pm for inclusion in the draw which will be made at 5pm.

Full details will be on the club’s Facebook page but anglers taking part should aim to be at Orchill by 8.30am on Saturday. Fishing is from 11.00am to 4pm but there will be a earlier start if all anglers are ready.
