A police investigation is underway after the death of a 63-year-old man following a car crash involving a Mercedes van in Willowbrae Road around 5.40pm yesterday.
No other vehicles were involved. The road was closed to traffic for around four hours following the road crash.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police Scotland was made aware of a road crash involving a Mercedes van at Willowbrae Road in Edinburgh around 5.40pm on Tuesday, 14 July.
“The 63-year-old male driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
“His next of kin are aware.
“No other vehicles were involved in the incident and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course. “The road was closed for around four hours to allow for an investigation to take place at the scene.”
