Six former Hibs’ players made the BBC Sport top 50 Scottish internationals’ list.

Over 26,000 teams were submitted by fans, in the Scotland’s all-time XI selector, including all men and women who have represented Scotland at a World Cup along with others who never took part in a major tournament.

As expected Kenny Dalglish was voted number one with Denis Law runner up.

In position 49  was Steve Archibald who won 27 caps. ‘Archie’ was signed by Alex Miller from Barcelona and is best remembered by Hibs’ fans for his derby goals, particularly the winner at Tynecastle.

In position 39 was Alan Rough who won 53 caps. ‘Roughie’ was signed by Pat Stanton from Partick Thistle for a reported £60,000. His performances were credited for keeping Hibs in the top flight.

In position 38 was Scott Brown who 55 caps. ‘Broonie’ was signed by Alex McLeish but was given his debut by Bobby Williamson. He helped Hibs win the CIS League Cup in 2007 before moving to Celtic for a reported £4m.

In position 29 was John Collins who won 58 caps. Collins was signed by Pat Stanton and given his debut as a 16-year-old. He moved to Celtic for £1m and subsequently returned to Hibs as manager in 2007, helping the club to a CIS League Cup win, beating Kilmarnock 5-1 in the final.

In position 12 was Jim Leighton who won 91 caps. He was signed by Alex Miller from Dundee after being released by Alex Ferguson at Manchester United. His performances in his final season at the club helped the side to avoid relegation after a play-off against Airdrie.

In position 5 was Andy Goram who won 43 caps. He was signed by Alex Miller from Oldham Athletic for £325,000 and replaced Alan Rough. He subsequently moved to Rangers for £1m.

Also selected were former Hibs’ managers Alex McLeish and Billy McNeil plus former assistant manager Maurice Malpas.

Five former Hearts players made the list, Craig Gordon, Sandy Jardine, Dave Mackay, Maurice Johnston and David Weir.
