Angling Scotland chairman David Ogg has told pleasure fishermen anxious to get back onto the water: “Stay at home.”

The Lochaber-based boss (pictured) was commenting following Sunday’s televised statement from the Prime Minister which prompted a raft of social media comments from anglers in Scotland.

Ogg, whose organisation represents game, sea and coarse angling north of the Border, said: “Nothing has changed from our point of view.”

He added: “The instructions are perfectly clear, stay at home unless you are on a necessary journey and I am afraid at the moment that definitely does not include angling.”
