British Transport Police are appealing for more information after a ticket inspector was assaulted following a dispute over a ticket on a train arriving at Edinburgh Waverley around 8pm on Friday 28 February.

The suspect is reported to have punched the victim three times in her arm.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault. The incident happened in coach B.

The train service was the 7pm service from Glasgow Central to York.

The suspect is described as a woman aged in her 20s, 5ft 6, of a slim build and long black hair.

She was wearing a pink and cream net skirt, a pink fluffy jacket, high heel shoes, and carrying an over the shoulder purse and a small trolley suitcase.

Anyone who knows her is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40.
