Dundee Stars opened their Challenge Cup campaign with a shock 6-3 victory at Glasgow Clan.

Anthony Beauregard, Drydn Dow, Brett Stovin, Kevin Dufour, Elgin Pearce and new captain Matt Marquardt all netted.

Travis Ehrhardt, Craig Peacock and Mathieu Roy scored for the home side who can repair the damage when they travel to Dundee on Sunday (5pm) in the return.

Sam Jones claimed the overtime winner as Fife Flyers edged EV Landshut 3-2 after overtime in the first of their weekend double-header.

Earlier, Chase Schaber and Kyle Just had given Fife a 2-0 lead by the end of the second period but the German touring side clawed their way back.
