Seven emerging Scottish acts will showcase at the award-winning convention from 11-13 April. The artists, performing on the second night of the event,  span a broad range of genres including pop, electronic, singer-songwriter and indie rock.

Hosted in partnership with PRS Foundation and Ticketmaster, the performances take place consecutively with a limited number of free tickets made available to the public. Past Wide Days events have served as early career platforms for artists including Honeyblood, Be Charlotte, Lucia, Rascalton, Fatherson, Scottish Album of the Year Award winner Kathryn Joseph and the Mercury-nominated C Duncan.

This year there will be a typically diverse line up, with acts selected in consultation with broadcasters, journalists and promoters. The evening begins in the with jazz-infused singer-songwriter Megan Airlie, followed by the gentle tones of VanIves and new pop prospect SHEARS, who has been working with engineer Matty Green (credits include Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga, Biffy Clyro and Taylor Swift).

It takes an electronic turn with Edinburgh acts Chuchoter and an Edinburgh Reporter favourite Eyes Of Others (recently remixed by techno pioneer Andrew Weatherall), before making way for teenage indie rockers Parliamo and the dark post-punk, beat infusion of Franky’s Evil Party.

“Year after year Scotland continues to produce incredible new artists and the Wide Days showcase line-up has become essential listening for anyone wanting to tap into the nation’s next wave of talent,” says Jonathan West, marketing director of Ticketmaster Artist Services. “Ticketmaster is absolutely stoked to be partnering with Wide Days to present this year’s live showcases.”
