Hibs’ youngster Ryan Porteous has won the Newtown Décor Player of the Month Award for August.

Head Coach Neil Lennon and his coaching staff nominated Porteous, Stevie Mallan, Lewis Stevenson and Martin Boyle for the award and the decision was made by a supporters’ vote.

Porteous has been an ever present in the Hibs defence, playing in a back three alongside Efe Ambrose and Paul Hanlon after replacing the injured Darren McGregor.

His form was rewarded with a place in Scot Gemmill’s Scotland Under-21s side and he performed well alongside team mates Stevie Mallan and Oli Shaw during the recent victories over Andorra and Holland.

Porteous was presented the award at the Hibernian Training Centre on Friday by Lee Calder from Newtown Décor and competition winner Thomas McNally.
