MP for East Dunbartonshire Jo Swinson will give a talk tonight at the Edinburgh International Book Festival on eliminating gender inequality.
Following the publication of her book Equal Power in February, Jo will be talking about what we can all do to create a society that is truly gender equal. As Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats and a former Government Minister, Jo has seen all too clearly how power can be concentrated in the hands of men right across the business, cultural and political spectrum.
Jo Swinson said: “It is a real honour to be included among such an exciting line-up at Edinburgh Book Festival this year. This festival is a wonderful celebration of the power of words, and I am excited to be part of it.
“Equal Power is a call to arms for anyone wanting to create a world of gender equality. It outlines the steps we can all take, large and small, to challenge gender stereotypes and the discrimination that can negatively affect women and men alike.”
Jo will be speaking on Wednesday 22nd August from 18:45-19:45 at the Baillie Gifford Main Theatre.
