European Premiere at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe

From the company that brought the acclaimed Siro-A to Edinburgh and London, Wasabeats Crew present the European premiere of Break Free at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Wasabeats Crew comprises six dancers, including Artistic Director and former winner of the UK Breakdance Championship, Go Ueki.

The show features champion break dancers, each with world titles, who are ready to carve up the floor to reach dizzying new heights. Aichi Ono is a Guinness World Record holder as the world’s fastest head-spinner, managing a dizzying 135 spins in one minute.

Direct from Tokyo, this crew are world-class urban dancers, fusing the very best in skill and technique, state of the art technology and a thumping soundscape including human beat boxing, alongside breath-taking never before seen tricks.

Break Free sees the dancers incarcerated due to a dancing ban. As they attempt to escape by trying to fool the strict police officer, the story gives them opportunity showcase their skills. Break Free is the ultimate breakdance fairy-tale suitable for all the family.
