Over 9,500 season tickets have been sold Hibs’ for the upcoming 2018/19 campaign, an increase of over 2,000 season tickets (27%) on the equivalent figure from this time last year, and more than double the previous season’s comparative figure.

Almost 9,300 had been sold by the close of the Early Bird window on Friday, with weekend sales taking the total to beyond the 9,500 mark.

Over 7% of purchasers thus far are new season ticket holders as supporters look to secure the best seats at Easter Road for next season.

Hibernian Chief Executive Leeann Dempster said: “We are delighted with the response from supporters in buying season tickets for next season.

“The numbers are phenomenal and give us great confidence going forward in our planning for next season.

“We were very happy with breaking the record for season ticket holders last season, but if we can continue at this rate we should be able to surpass that again.

“We want to keep growing this club and we can’t do that without the supporters.”

Head Coach Neil Lennon said: “The support, both home and away, has been excellent this season.

“I don’t like the word potential but everyone can see what the club is capable of achieving, both on and off the park.

“We can’t be the team we want to be without the backing of the support, and it’s great that so many have signed up for a season ticket already.

“It’s going to be an exciting end to this season, and hopefully supporters will be able to see us build on that next year.”
