Two Scots made their Great Britain debuts in a 2-1 in defeat to Argentina the opening match of their five-match series in Rosario.

Amy Costello from Edinburgh and Glasgow-born Nikki Cochrane were among seven athletes who played their first game for their country.
Borders-born Sarah Robertson also played.

Susannah Townsend gave Great Britain the lead in the opening quarter. Maria Campoy levelled with 15 minutes left and Eugenia Trinchinetti netted winner.

Danny Kerry, Britain’s head coach, said: “Overall, we are pleased with our performance.

“Amy Costello had an assured first cap and Sarah Robertson gave a hard- working and intelligent performance.”
