Bottom club Edinburgh Capitals shocked Coventry Blaze 5-2 with Marek Tvrdon netting a double to snap a 13-game losing streak.

It was a major boost to Capitals fans as they await news of a re-structuring of the club.

Elsewhere, Fife Flyers were dumped 6-1 at Elite League newcomers Guildford Flames despite taking the lead through Shayne Stockton after two minutes.

They were then hit by six straight goals. The first came from Kruise Reddick after nine minutes followed by a power play from Ian Waters two minutes later.

Jeremy Lundin added No 3 after 23 minutes followed by a goal from Tomas Nechala nine minutes after that.

Ben Campbell added another 1min 17 seconds later and Reddick completed the rout after 37 minutes but Fife are in sixth place in the 12 strong table with Guildford in tenth.

At Milton Keynes Lightning, Braehead Clan edged the home side 1-0 after a goal from Tylor Scofield in 26 minutes.
