Sam Masters is desperate to make up for the disappointment of losing the SGB Premiership title.

The Aussie-born Wolverhampton Wolves racer tracks alongside American rider Ricky Wells for Edinburgh Monarchs in the Championship pairs.

And they go to the tapes with some of Britain’s best racers at Sheffield on Sunday (3pm).

The meeting was switched to Owlerton after being postponed due to the weather at its traditional staging venue of Somerset the day before the British Grand Prix in July.

Edinburgh are in Group B with Newcastle, Sheffield, Redcar and Berwick. Glasgow Tigers go in Group A alongside Peterborough, Ipswich, Workington and Scunthorpe.

Glasgow track skipper Aaron Summers and Richard Lawson while Berwick pin their hopes on captain Kevin Doolan and David Howe.

GROUP A: GLASGOW – Richard Lawson/Aaron Summers; PETERBOROUGH – Chris Harris/Ulrich Ostergaard; IPSWICH – Rory Schlein/Danny King; WORKINGTON – Craig Cook/Ty Proctor; SCUNTHORPE – Lewis Kerr/Josh Auty.

GROUP B: EDINBURGH – Sam Masters/Ricky Wells; NEWCASTLE – Steve Worrall/Stuart Robson; SHEFFIELD – Kyle Howarth/Lasse Bjerre;
REDCAR – Ben Barker/Charles Wright; BERWICK – Kevin Doolan/David Howe.
