Dmitri Khristich takes his men to Milton Keynes Lightning on Thursday trying to halt a six game losing streak

Elite League: Coventry Blaze 7, Edinburgh Capitals 1

Edinburgh Capitals nightmare start to the Elite League season continued when they were burned 7-1 at Coventry Blaze.

The defeat was the sixth in a row for the misfiring Murrayfield men were 3-0 down after 17 minutes.

Former Fife Flyers star Ryan Dingle opened the scoring after ten minutes and two more goals followed quickly,

Kevin Noble netting five minutes later and Dax Lauwers less than two minutes after that.

Brett Robinson increased the agony with a fourth short-handed after 22 minutes and Marc-Olivier Vallerand popped in No 5 after 35 minutes.

It got worse as Luke Ferrara scored the sixth with 39 seconds left of the middle session and Ben Lake made it 7-0 six minutes into the final period.

But Callum Boyd pulled one back seven minutes later but it was only a consolation leaving coach Dmitir Khristich with work to do ahead of Thursday’s visit to Milton Keynes Lightning.
