The Edinburgh city bypass was closed heading westbound at Dreghorn this morning shortly after 8.40am after a Hilux pickup truck towing 1500 litres of aviation fuel crashed.

The crash resulted in huge tailbacks and diversions were put in place.

The road reopened at 10.30am.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “There was a small leak but nobody was injured and nobody was trapped.

“Around 25 firefighters were called.”
