Edinburgh, Perth and Dundee rail services face disruption this morning following the death of a woman who was struck by a train at South Gyle railway station at 9.30pm last night.

The line between Inverkeithing and Haymarket was closed for two hours and replacement transport has been arranged for travellers on some of the affected routes.

A police spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm a woman died in an incident at South Gyle railway station at about 9.30pm on Wednesday. Enquiries are ongoing.”
