Scotland’s men’s lacrosse team has launched an online fundraiser to compete at the 2018 Federation of International Lacrosse World Championships in Israel.

They are ranked No 6 in the world and the event would mark their debut at the premier level of world lacrosse. Historically, Lacrosse Scotland’s national teams have been self-funded.

Due to the increased costs of competing at the top level the men have partnered with a fund-raising company.

Recently, Scottish Hockey launched a fund-raising campaign to fund their participation in the World League semi-finals in London later this month.

Chris Tihansky, a spokesman for the lacrosse squad, said: “The Dreamfuel fund-raising campaign is a great opportunity for all Scots to show their support for the men’s national lacrosse team.

“This team has proved it can compete on the world stage and I hope we can unite to provide the funding necessary to adequately prepare for the Worlds in 2018.”
