The Tobermory Main Street Players are bringing their own original play to the Fringe.
Their play charts the way in which a single dramatic gesture can unleash feelings of anger, frustration and even desperation in ordinary people against the forces of the establishment in all its manifestations: social, economic, political and above all religious.
They will explore the legend of Jenny Geddes through music dialogue and dance in A Stool Against the Printed Rule.
“Sometimes the actions of one person can reverberate in unforeseen ways. In this case the actions of a 17th century Edinburgh woman initiated events that still unfold today.
“We believe that our home made production on a limited budget reflects the true spirit of the Fringe. The play won the independently adjudicated annual Drama festival held on the Isle of Mull.
