Braehead Clan boss Gareth Chalmers has confirmed that new player signings are imminent despite not having a coach.
Nearly 50 applications from top coaches from Europe, North America and the UK have been received following the dismissal of Ryan Finnerty but Chalmers, the clubās hockey and operations director, said they will take their time.
He confirmed that player signings are imminent but said that highly-rated netminder Michal Zajkowski is leaving the Scottish Elite League club to join his hometown team, Ćrnskƶldsvik, in Sweden.
Chalmers said: “We’re spending time doing our homework on each coach to ensure we’re looking at the right candidates.
“Negotiations with a number of players are close to being finalised and we’ll be in a position soon to start confirming the exciting new roster.”
