Day 9… And counting.

The squad seem to have, largely, put behind them the disappointment the defeat to Ukraine and are now preparing for the match against the Russian Bear tomorrow (9th).

Due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control, my early morning beach trip was postponed/cancelled as, strangely enough, there were far more important things up for consideration.

Once again, training went well with the warm-up certainly adding to the lightening mood of the camp and the players also had the chance to, firstly, be entertained by the coaches playing racket ball, before a few of them having a go themselves. The coaches (mis)match was between Michael Clark and Simon Lovelock with the infinitely competitive, Neil Menzies, and the slightly more competitive than that, Gordon Shepherd. Lambs to the slaughter, it was….

It has, however, been mostly confined to barracks for yours truly as there was a match report to compile – now published – and the match photos to select and edit.

Then it was tea and back to my cupboard for more of the same.

Early breakfast tomorrow, early team meeting and early match. We’re fairly confident it’s not going to be an early bath.
