Community Action Team officers in East Lothian have arrested and charged a 35-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man with offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act on Thursday 17th November.

They were arrested after a warrant was executed at a property in Dobson’s Place, Haddington.

During the search officers recovered heroin with a street value of £600 along with a quantity of diazepam and cannabis, cash and drugs paraphernalia.

They were due to  appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday.

Community Inspector Andrew Harborow said: “Tackling drug crime is one of our top priorities for East Lothian and we will continue to utilise all of Police Scotland’s resources to bring those responsible for these sort of offences to justice.

“Enforcement activity such as this can only be successful with the help of the public and I would urge anyone with information on drug offences in their area to come forward to police or contact the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
