Hibernian legend Alex Cropley and Hibernian Historian Tom Wright will be in the Clubstore between 12.00 and 13.30 Saturday ahead of kick-off to sign copies of ‘Crops – The Alex Cropley Story’.

Cropley was a member of the Turnbull’s Tornadoes side from the early 1970s who won two Drybrough Cups, the League Cup and beat Hearts 7-0 at Tynecastle on new years day 1973.

His ability quickly brought him international recognition and a big money move to English giants Arsenal.

He subsequently played for Aston Villa where he also won a League Cup winners medal,  Newcastle United, Toronto Blizzard and Portsmouth, before a number of injuries forced him off the pitch.

Cropley’s tale of his time on (and off) the pitch isn’t just the tale of one man’s odyssey, however, but rather offers a glimpse into the footballing landscape of the time, with an engaging and often wry depiction of the larger-than-life characters who went on to become the greats of Scottish football.

A frank but warm-hearted account of the hopes and despair of the great game, Crops will delight football fans of all ages.
