Councillor Alex Lunn is the councillor for Craigentinny/Duddingston. He is anxious that Edinburgh residents get involved with the discussion over open spaces across Edinburgh.
“If you care about open space and more to the point good quality open space (and let’s face it who doesn’t) then the City of Edinburgh Council are at present running a consultation on open space in the city.
“The Open Space Strategy is to help, protect and develop the city’s open spaces. It sets standards that Edinburgh is expected to meet when making decisions on open spaces. The new strategy (currently a draft strategy) is called Open Space 2021, once this has been finalised it will replace the current strategy which was adopted in 2010.
“I hope as many people as possible will get involved. Local knowledge is the key to the success of Open Space 2021 as each of Edinburgh’s Neighbourhood Partnerships will have its own action plan unique to its community and surroundings.
I hope as many of you as possible will take part in the consultation. If you want more information it can be found at by Emailing OpenSpaceStrategy@edinburgh.gov.uk

Or feel free to contact myself. Edinburgh has fantastic open spaces which are part of our heritage as well as our future. Please take part in the consultation by October 21.
