Hibs have announced the departure of several players following the expiry of their contracts and loan spells at the end of the 2015/16 season.
Conrad Logan, who made a sensational debut in the William Hill Scottish Cup Semi Final victory over Dundee United with his key one-on-one saves and penalty shoot-out stops helping the side reach the Final. The goalkeeper leaves after making eight appearances in his spell at Hibernian.
Kevin Thomson has also departed following the culmination of his contract, with the experienced midfielder making his third debut for the Club away to Heart of Midlothian in our 2-2 draw with our city rivals in the William Hill Scottish Cup.
Farid El Alagui, who arrived at Hibernian in the summer of 2014, unfortunately had a frustrating time in green and white with injuries – but still left a lasting imprint. Scoring seven goals in 21 appearances, with eleven of those as starts, with his most memorable goal coming in a 2-0 Edinburgh Derby victory at Easter Road in April 2015.
Chris Dagnall, who joined the Club from Kerala Blasters in January 2016, with the forward making 15 appearances during his time in Leith. He made his debut in the William Hill Scottish Cup Fourth Round tie away to Raith Rovers, before also playing his part in our Ladbrokes Championship and Scottish League Cup presented by Utilita campaigns.
Niklas Gunnarsson also made his debut in the same game as Chris, with the Norwegian right-back arriving on loan from Valerenga in January. The powerful and athletic defender also made 15 appearances, scoring two goals in the process – including a winning goal against Rangers in the Ladbrokes Championship. Following his substitute appearance in the William Hill Scottish Cup Final, he ended his time at Hibernian with his first full call-up to the Norwegian national team for their international friendly fixture away to Portugal.
Liam Henderson endeared himself to the Hibernian support with a series of passionate performances after his arrival on loan from Celtic Football Club in August 2015. The skilful attacking midfielder scored six goals in 48 appearances, but his most telling contribution in Hibernian colours was his duo of set-piece deliveries which saw the side overturn a 2-1 deficit to emerge as 3-2 victors over Rangers in the William Hill Scottish Cup Final.
Anthony Stokes, who arrived on loan from Celtic in January, also made a telling impact as he arrived for his second spell at Easter Road Stadium. He scored on his second debut, before going on to score another ten goals – including his brace in the Final which helped the side win the Scottish Cup for the first time in 114 years.
In addition to this, Sean Brennan, Jordan McGregor, Jordan Sinclair and Aaron Scott were released from the Hibernian Academy, with their departure announced in May. Josh Peters, who joined the Hibernian Academy from Strathspey Thistle in January has also left the Club.
